Fixed the little pump and finished my 3 point hitch! You know what....the solvent did indeed eat up the old felt/rubber seal. It was hard as heck to get the old retainers out but I managed after much toil. It was just as bad as doing the PTO output seal too. I had to like drill and use a slide hammer to beat that one out. The shaft wasn't worn at all and the seal fit tight BUT I could see where it was starting to show some friction so I know I wasn't too far from it. I had to use a pick to work the lip of the seal around that stepped shoulder on the shaft but after that ploooop she went right on.
Anyhoos....here are some pics. Now I did take some pics of the innards but the resolution was so bad I couldn't get them to show any detail.
I split the pump and pulled the impellers, brass bearings, gear, and spring then cleaned and replaced them all and put fresh O-rings in. It still looked new in there but I figured what the heck.
