Henry, I left a not just a minute ago under uyour post from last night. I ahd the experience of losing all spark when I changed out points an condensor. I agree with others, that coil isn't going to die that fast, and is probably fine. Before youo chasing down and paying for a new coil, check to make sure your new poiunts are closing properly. I set the gap on mine with the mag on the tractor, and never turned the engine before I closed it up to see that they were closing. And that was the problem. The arm was binding on the hinge post, the one that I cleaned and then greased. But it was the breaker arm sticking open. A little reaming, resetting of the gap, and retiming of the spark, and that might be all you neeed.
