I also don't think it os right that we have to pay hiway gas taxes on a boat!!! you should be able to go to the gas station and get gas 44 cents cheeper at a seprate pump that wont fit into a regular gas tank plus they could dye it red eo make sure you dont run it in your car. and as boats are not required by law to pay hiway taxes. Even the pumps right on the river charge hiway use taxes. Its like 360 a gallon on the river for 92 octain. the pumps can't even go that high so they charge twice what the pump reads.... thus it is set at 1.80 for 3.60 gas.... The owner said whats next i gotta charge tripple or get new pumps if it goes over 3.98 a gallon for 92 octain. If they din't have to charge the 44 cents a gallon for road taxes it would help alot. as my boat holds 40 gallons. thats almost 15 doallars I should not have to pay. My uncle owns a resort up north minnesota and has asked his fuel man why he has to pay state taxes on "boat" gas and he said in minnesota they don't give boaters a discount and they have to apply for a rebait.... We all know people dont turn in rebates 90 percent of the time. as for me I run my farm gas in my boat but i still have to fill out a form to get a refund for fedral taxes paid. what a scam!
