Tim: You make a good point, and I should have gone a bit further. I don't believe Hiniker was ever sold here in Canada, at least I've never seen one, other than photos. I agree Hiniker and Year-a-Round look very much alike, thus I've always wondered if it was a design licenced to two different companies. I've also seen the Diamond or Excell cab by another name. Reasons for this could have been trade duties or tarrifs which ended somewhere between 1972 and 1975. In 1972 I bought my first Case Skid steer, it had duty charged on it, however Thomas was the only manufacturer making skid steers here in Canada, an because they were not supplying 10% of market, I was able to recover that duty. When I bought the second Case skid loader in 75 the duty was gone. Up until that time we also paid that same duty on US built farm tractors. This resulted in companies adding items like cabs, tires, etc. after the tractor arrived in Canada. Going back into the 50s and 60s we paid about 10% to 15% more for a Farmall than you folks did, using a common dollar for calculations.

Jon called me to help him discover why his tractor wouldn't start
