Harold: Have a bill of sale or invoice from seller that clearly states his address and yours. Make sure the tractor is clean, as in soil, oil and grease. Best have it preasure washed before leaving Canada. If you call US customs before you leave home, tell them what you are doing, there are systems whereby you can fax all information to them from point of purchase, advising you expected crossing time and the point of entry. That is not manditory or necessary, but it seems to speed things up. I'm basically going from experience, and the premis that crooks don't usually fax ahead to anounce their expected arrival.
