Frist make sure you have the motor at top died center on number one cylinder on the compression stroke.Now if the mag has no visable timing marks on the gears and I have had some that didn`t,this is what you need to do.Turn the mag till the inpluse is ready to kick then stop,this should put the points at a point where they are just ready to open on the lob.Next find number one on the mag cap,mark the side of the mag with a pencil at the point where number one is .then take the top gear with the segment pointing to the number one mark on the mag,put the screws back in and put mag back on the tractor while not moving the inpluse .After all this you should be in time and the tractor should run .You may need to fine tune after you get her up and running.Use caution for if you are not in time the old girl may give you a big kick.
