I do not know the thickness: The way we determine the usefullness of the bands is if the adjustment (under that small shell like cap) will no longer work. Look in this forums archives (search for) 300 PTO adjustment. It is tickelish, but works. If they are worn, a good brake shop, or industrial equipment repair shop will reline them. Cranes and winches almost all have band clutches that have similar linings. JimN
