If this was a better system design, it would be alot easier to have patience and determination. A solid state regulator to control field current would be awesome. I see why alot of people due the 12v alternator conversion. Up until about 6 months ago, I had some 12v batteries with nothing to do. Now that I'd have to go buy a battery, it kinda puts me off. I dont like spending money, especially on something that could go terminal anytime. If I had a better assesment of the condition of the hydraulic pump, the engine, and the clutch/rearend, Then dumping more money into it wouldnt be a problem. The idea of spending money and having onme of those go out, is not my idea of a good investment. i know, I'm cheap
