Last weekend i bought a SA SN 250038, which means it was the 38th made out of 81 in 1947. I paid $1300.00, its alway been kept in a barn, 1 owner, all origional, never had any engine work, it runs perfect, hydrolics work perfect, all 4 wheel weights, original tires, good sheet metal etc. THe only thing it needs is both rear rims. This is my 1st antique and I bought it to restore, I know nothing about these tractors. I bought it not knowing what year it was. Now after researching the serial # I'm wondering if I should even restore it. Should I restore it or just ride it around the farm like it is. My idea of a "restoration" is remove every nut, bolt, etc. sand blast every piece. completely tear down tranny and motor even though it doesn't need to be rebuilt.
