Glad you found the problem and have your tractor running good. I have an old Wico mag that has lost the magnetism in the magnets. It would cost more to have the magnets recharged than it's worth. I have a picture where someone that had a mag on a farm tractor and he used an auto type coil and connected a wire from the new coil to the points. This bypassed the old coil and magnets. He ran a wire from an ignition switch to supply voltage to the new coil since he had battery start. It must have been 12 volts too since I saw a ballast resistor in the picture. Hal
