Stuck Engine!!!!!!!!!!! 300 gas 1955 Row Crop

I bought a tractor a few days ago, you Guys in Forums Helped me find out what model it was, Thanks!!!! Well when I opened the engine I found a surprise of water. I never tried to run it becuase I didn't believe the guy who sold it to me said it turned over a few days ago. I told him ya right just give me your best price! 1)Once I let it sit in ATF whats next lightly tape the pistons with a wood block? I also heard lightly tap rods? Any suggestions???????
