Ted, check the voltage between ground and each glow plug end. Each one should be a little less then the one in series before it. If you get a big drop in voltage (almost no voltage) then that glow plug or the one before it is grounded.When I pulled my glow plugs I could see scrapes on them from hitting the pre cups. Look in the plug hole and see if you can see or feel any of the pre cup. I had to pull my injectors and pre cups so I could hog out the holes in the pre cups to clear the plugs. They are very hard and I used a dremal tool. It took a while but I got them.
