Thanks so much. That explains the whole thing; they must have found that they needed a stronger ring, but had to change the shaft to make room for a wider groove. Now, unless you do send me a picture of that parts page, which would be very useful, could you tell me the part number of the shaft with the two couplings on the ends that connects the PTO unit to the engine. The couplings must be 360168R1, but I'm hoping the 340 has a shorter shaft than the 450 or 560. (Which machine are your numbers from, by the way? Thanks so much. Charlie
