sprout. there are some examples of early f-20's with regular rearends and regular engine serial numbers. i had heard that this was to use some surplus that ih did not think they would sell. you can see this on thier over the counter parts, for example . when you bought a cylinder head for a regular late it would fit the late f-20 fan mount or the early f-20 or it would have the regular oil guage holes, etc all of the above. so these early tractor makeups are hard to say what they might have. if you ever find an early f-20 with regular parts, leave it that way. it would be an interesting speculation piece if nothing else. if you find an early f-20 missing pieces, check the parts book against the serial nomber and go from there. russ
