OK, I am learning a few things here. I went out to the barn where I have an H apart. Yes, the wide gear that is partially covered by the 4th-5th slider is also the upper constant mesh gear. The big gear, which I assumed was the constant mesh gear, is the belt pully drive gear and thats the one with 39 teeth. So I wasn't all wrong. I knew that gear drove the BP gear box and I was able to confirm, with the parts books, that all same sized tractors have a 39 tooth driving gear. I looked at a 460 book and noticed the input shaft has an alternate input shaft without the big belt pulley gear. The 560 book doesn't show it. Thanks for staying with this thread.
