The Indiana State Fair had their 150th fair last month, with their 3rd largest crowd ever. I didn't see it but they had 92 antique tractors (1 for every county) parade from Monument Circle in the middle of Indianapolis out to the State Fair grounds. Over at the Pioneer Village (NE corner of the fairgrounds) there was a large exhibit of antique tractors and some other equipment, including steam engines, threshing machines, and a sawmill. Our governor plans on agriculture to revitalize Indiana and the state is spending some money toward that goal. There was a John Deere dealer and a Case-IH dealer set up showing smaller tractors and selling shirts and toys. Our county fair is built around 4-H and is fairly small. We used to have a separate county fair but the organizers quit when the preachers objected to the gambling and girly shows. So all we have now is 4-H exhibits, livestock, demolition derby, and a small midway.
