Don"t sound just right for the power unit counterpart to the W-40 tractor. These units were designated PA-40 or PK-40 depending on whether they were for gasoline or kerosene. I believe you are referring to the engine number and not the chassis number and if so, the power units engine number should begin with PTM or PKE(all the gas ones begin w/ PTM and the very early kerosene ones). The chassis serial number(and model number) is found on a plate attached to the lower rear right hand side of the sheet metal. Also has a large oval air intake protruding thru the hood on the left side. It"s a rather large unit, measuring six feet long from front of radistor to end of shaft and about "chest high" to a six foot man(or woman for that matter, to be politically correct). Nonetheless, I hope this info helps you determine the identity of the power unit.
