I bought a new one in a IH crate. The gear box is a right angle PTO adaptor for a 504 and similar tractors. The nailed on pulley bezel was painted red. I think the nails were red too. The fiber pulley surface was oiled and had a brown color. I would have to take another look, but I don't think it was turned in a lathe. In other words, it is slightly uneven. Variations no more than 005-010". On a H or M, one has to wonder if the pulley was installed on the tractor prior to painting. I am guessing it wasn't. I think it was installed with the lights, decals, and so on. If you have sound pulley, you could rotate the pulley by putting it in gear and holding sand paper against it. Use something like a 36 grit. That's about as close as you are going to get to original appearance.
