Nebraska tractor test #1277 (1978) shows that the tractor had a Mazda engine of 71.3 cubic inches. The Mazda GLC of 1978 to 1980 used a 1400 cc engine (85.4) cubic inches. The Mazda GLC wagon of 1978-1981 used a 1500 cc engine which will directly interchange in every external respect with the 1400. A tree just fell glancing blow on my 1980 GLC coupe and it has a rebuilt engine with less than 40K miles on it. The body damage is just enough to total the car. The engine is overhead cam with internal chain drive for the cam, not a belt. The top cover is wide cast aluminum. The car probably will go to the crusher soon. If this engine is in any way usable for you, it is available for modest price. If interested, we can discuss.
