I think I know what it is...

I think its a Farmall 100 Hi-Clear or possibly a Farmall 130 Hi-Clear(since its been repainted). Why? Well, if you look at the hood, it's smooth on the sides, like a 100/130 - whereas an A has the curves stamped into the metal. Also, the hood ornament is correct for a 100/130/200/230, and the grill is correct, too. (I could use that grille on my 100.) Over three years, Harvester made 1057 100 Hi-Clears. If it is a 100 Hi-Clear, it looks to be a fairly rare bird, and is certainly not a 1947 model. I've never seen a 100 Hi-Clear before. Dunno if its worth $2500, either. The serial number would clear up the questions....

Did the '47 As have hydraulics?? This machine does. It has the lift link on the left-hand side.

I could be wrong on all of this, too. But other than the Hi-Clear, it looks like my 100.

If I'm wrong on this, please correct me!

What do you all think??

It was the day before Christmas shutdown at work and I asked our lead engineering expert Scott Andrzejewski what he was going to do over the holidays. He said that he had some corn that he still needed to pick with an antique one-row New Idea corn picker. Scott has a nice farm about an hour north of Lansing in St. Johns, MI. He wanted to get the rest of his corn in by the next day (Christmas Eve). We had about an inch of new snow on the ground and single digit temperatures. So in the bac ... [Read Article]
