I don"t know what people are thinking of when they dump pets. I guess they are not thinking. My wife used to work in a vets office and now she works in for the local humane society. Sad to see the good dogs and cats just dumped for someone to pick up. I hope there is a special place in h*** for folks who do that. Our dog was one that was dumped in the country and we adopted. She is a great dog and how had her 7-8 years. Very loyal and good temperment. Over the years we have taken two or three dumped dogs to our vet; paid for shots; and got them adopted. Some where pretty good dogs and looked like pure breeds. One was Gold Retriever. Some people just do not understand or do not want to understand adopting a pet is a big committment of time and money. Our "free" dog probably involves a few hundred dollars of vet bills (just shots and check ups) each year, plus feeding, care, etc. Worth every penny from my perspective. I think she would try to protect me from anything; and not ask anything but good treatment in return.
