Kubota diesel in a cub 1512

had starting problems last summeranyway tookhead off cylinders look ok.brought head to kubota dealer,said needed injectors and valves lapped $420,ok put head on new glow plugs, set valves and she still wont start,My kid used ether to start it in cold ,wonder if my rings are gone or maybe injection pump however i get fuel to injectors. sparks around ground bolt when cranking ,heard you could put extra ground strap to fix that actually oil dipstick tried welding itself to metal brace any advice seriuosly apprecited Thanks
