756 clutch

Okay... Got this 756, been in the family for almost 30 years. Been a fine horse all that time. But now, the clutch appears to be going out, it will hardly pull itself in the upper half of the hi range. I'm not looking forward to splitting such a big tractor... But I notice a pretty regular drip of oil coming from the flat plate just below the clutch area. Now, am I wrong, or isn't this a supposed to be a dry clutch? I'm wondering where my oil's coming from. For that matter, I'm wondering if the clutch would behave a little better if I took that plate off and got in there with a high-pressure washer and blasted the oil out of it. Thanks
