My old H roared back to life yesterday morning. It was lost power while mowing and was not getting enough gas. Pulled the carb and gas line and sediment bowl and cleaned it all up. After cleaning gas just poured out of the carb. To make a long story short while tearing down the carb my venturi just crumbled in my hands. After posting on here about not being able to find one Farmer Bob bless his heart took the venturi out of one of his carbs and sent it to me at his cost and just asked that I replace his when I get one. Wow, what a nice thing to do. After a new needle valve and seat and gaskets and sediment bowl "mine wouldn't shut off the gas" it fired right off. But the carb started leaking again. I tapped on the carb and tried it many times without luck to get it to stop leaking. Decided I needed a few min.s away from it so I sat down and rubbed my old dogs head for a while and said a little prayer. I was at wits end. Got up and turned on the gas and no leak, started right off and drove it around all over no leaks. Did have to tweak the idle adjustment a little. I think it's getting more gas to it than it has in a while. But it runs great. Thank you so much Bob and all you other guys that are bailing me out all the time. You all are such a blessing to me. And isnt it crazy that the maker of the Heavens and earth has time to care about my carburator. Life is good.
Paul
Oh, is it possible to overtighten the sediment bowl? I flat out turned that rascal down and it still drips a little. Don't want to break it.
