84 series rearends

How durable are the 84 series rearends and trannys? I know that with the planetaries they should be pretty stout and that the internal brakes are a weak point but how would one hold up in a light pro stock or light super class. I have one sitting and am thinking about putting in a D-358 and then building new frame rails and a new front end. Probably up to 400 horse. How does this rearend compare to the size and strength of a 656, 666, or 560 rearend? thanks
