Fuel Shutoff Valve Clogging

I have a tip that may have been posted on this site before....maybe several times.

No matter how hard I try not to, it's very easy to get a couple chunks of dirt in the fuel tank on my M when removing the cap to refuel. These chunks would eventually work their way over to the inlet of the fuel shutoff valve and bowl assembly and starve the tractor for gas. To correct this problem, remove the fuel shutoff valve and bowl assembly from the tank. Cut a piece of wire house screen about 3" wide. Roll it tight a couple of rolls and then insert it in the inlet of the shutoff valve. Pinch off the other end of the rolled screen. This home made filter fix works great by stopping the bigger chunks of dirt in the fuel tank. The fine mesh screen above the bowl stops the small stuff.
