farmall 140 valve clearance

Sorry to ask a simple question but I don't have a service manual here and I can't find the tune up specs on the internet for a 140. What is the valve clearance for it? It sounds like rain beating on a tin roof whet it runs. I took the valve cover off and I don't think these valves have never been adjusted - I could almost put my finger in there (kidding of course).
