Just read all the posts below, I agree with what has been said so far as it goes. I'll add this. Autolite 388's are my plug of choice for Farmalls. Check your mechanical advance mechanism. If it is working, consider finding a breaker plate or altering yours to provide 30 degrees advance instead of the 23 you probably have. I have seen this help other H's and M's. Can't help you with how long the slot has to be to achieve 30deg, but someone else may be able to.
