I didn't mean that they had model hear changes every year, but if you look at the correlation with several of the changes in both the H and M series, the changes come after the first of the year, thus appearing to be implemented around the same time.. This is evident with the 39 H and M sytyling, Change in steel wheel design, Disc Brakes, transmissions, etc.. It just appears that thru an analysis of the Parts books and the serial number info, that there is some correlation to the time that most major changes were implemented.. Guy, since we are on the 39H and M subject, The originality guide states that the 39 H and M seat was discontinued in November of 39.. This is obviously not true, because it was used into 1940.. Was this info taken from a corporate directive?
Another thing mentioned, is that the WFE wasn't available on the 39s until 1940, but I have been told by dealers that this was not true, and the Parts list for the WFE appears in the Sept 15, 1939 parts book for both the H and M.. I also knw of a WFE 39h with the S/N FBH 5??, that has the serial number stamped in the WFE and siderail, but I am not sure if that is correct.. One of my 39s has a WFE, and I checked the cast prtions for a cast date, but only the part number appears.. What does this mean??
