Need the Gauges

Mornin' Guys, Well, I think I've been beat. I've had this darned old tractor transmission apart from every conceivable angle and I've pulled every valve and hydraulic part out and inspected it clear down to the pistons against the swish plate. To my untrained eye, I just can't see anything wrong or where the leak is. Threw the old gal together, filled 'er up with oil and took it out to my "test hill". Worked fine and dug like a badger for about 50 feet and then promptly went back to it's old tricks. I can just feel something "giving away" when it decides to go south. Reverse works just fine. Guess it is about time to load 'er on a trailer and take it to someone who can put the gauges on this thing to pinpoint the problem. Was talking to the local red mech and telling him I think it has a bad pump. He says definitely not. If it pulls okay in one direction, then the pump has got to be pressuring up correctly. He says I’ve got a valve “leaking by”. The only one that looked even a little bit “iffy” was that forward check. Dunno, it’s got me stumped. Allan
