I had trouble with the starter on my SMTA. Pulled it apart and found the wire that goes between the hot brushes and hooks to the fields was burned in two. I think it probably got crimped and low battery and burned. I tried to find one of these here or even the wire to make a new one but was unable to find it. It is a really heavy wire. I tried a piece of heavy primary wire but it was too stiff. I now have about #10 primary wire in there and so far is ok but I would like to have the correct replacement if and when it goes. Does anyone know where I could get one? I have a delco number for it from the IH parts book but suspect it has been updated.
