C113 Farmall Engine

I am having some trouble getting a C113 engine to run smooth. It has to run quiet a while to warm up but untill then about every 3 or 4 minutes it will have a skip. After it warms up, it runs smooth as silk. Another thing is, the magneto trip seems too loud. Makes it sound like a lifter or pushrod is ticking. Is there any way to lower tht noise a little?
