I had an 856 gasser at work that ran the same way after I gave it a complete tune up, new exhaust manifold, rebuilt the carb. Right away it ran good except on 5 and 6, 5 being a little better of the two. I found that the manifold had a gap on the last port of the engine witch feeds 5 and 6. The manifold had been plained so the head couldn't have been true. All I did was fill in the gap with some gasket material and it ran like new again. Hope this can help you out.
