We're in the final stages of drawing up and then building a couple of landscape rakes for our Cubs to help out with hurricane cleanup. My question relates to the weight lifting capacity of the touch control system and more importantly--how much weight can be lifted without front weights? We'll be building two different design 5' rakes as light as possible--one will use old RR spikes for the tines and the other will have the standard (1"x 5/16") spring steel tines. We plan to have a pivot point slightly aft of the drawbar to allow for lifting when the rake is not in use and for adjustments while dragging. I expect we'll need to get front weights but they're a little harder to come by than the rear weights--(we have plenty of rear weights).
