Warm the engine so you get an accurate adjustment; have the hood off so all you need to do is remove the valve cover when you are ready to adjust. Locate #1 sparkplug wire in the distributor cap; remove the cap & rotate the engine so the rotor is pointing to #1 terminal. Adjust both #1 valves. If the spark plugs are removed, you should ve able to rotate the engine with the fan belt so the distributor rotor is pointing to the terminal of the next cylinder in the firing order; adjust those valves. Continue in the same manner until finished. The feeler gauge should have a slight dragging feel as you pull it out from between the valve & the rocker arm. If you try the next smaller size feeler, it should not have any resistance when inserting or removing.
