Bushhogged for 5 hours today. Beautiful day in Central Alabama, tractor purred like a kitten. I spent the weekend with my church group on a disaster relief trip to South Alabama/Mississippi. Those guys need all of our prayers. Through the power of the internet, our church was able to collect four tractor/trailer loads of essential stuff (bottled water, infant supplies, canned food, flood clean-up buckets, etc.) in less than 36 hours. Sixteen of us left out Friday 7:30 p.m., dropped at six different locations and back home at 2:00 a.m. Sunday. We basically flew under the bureaucratic radar and got in before anyone could tell us we couldn't come. The folks were mighty appreciative. FEMA & the National Guard have lots of resources and do great work, but they are such behemoths that they can be a little slow in getting their wheels rolling. It takes little guys like us to be first responders and get the victims through the first couple of days. Support your local Red Cross, Salvation Army and House of Worship!!! And seriously, please pray for the victims of Katrina. The devastation is incredible. It's gonna take a long time to clean this one up.

You can never have wide enough tires or heavy enough weights to get all the traction you want … unless you own a monster tractor. U
