one more F-20 mag question

Thanks for everyones help last night. I now have spark and also got a spare mag working. The question I have is on my spare when I rotate the arm on the cover over the points in one direction it cuts the spark but on my main it will spark in either direction. I tryed a different cover over the points as well as the whole housing that has the wire that goes to the condenser. Were is this suppose to ground out when you want to shut the tractor off? Thanks once again Paul
