Nice Story. I myself also have a Farmall 544 Hydro. I purchased through the original owners grandson. Cosmetically the tractor was that faded plum color, had a crappy job of a cab put on it and was full of grease. She is now one of the best looking around and I am hoping to get in touch with the ol fello and let him see her. Same type of story, bought new, was the main tractor. Mech sound when I got about 4000 hours. All maint was recorded till the grand kids got it. It was nice of you to stop and let them folks relive it.
