Do we have an idea how many of these engines still exist? How many still run? I don't recall the exact numbers, but it is something like 12,000 350's were built, of which 3,000 were diesel. So, considering the 'loss' over the years, do you suppose there are 1000 diesels remaining? I'm also curious about the 'part pool'. Did Continental create batch of spare parts for the 193 engines before dismantling the tooling for it circa 1960, and we've been drawing down this supply of new-old-stock ever since? Did IH or a 3rd party ever manufacture parts?
