Dean, This is an old post but I have a similar problem with gears grinding. Typically gears start to grind after I let it idle a bit when out of gear. My tranny leaks like a civ and after changing out hytran fluid I only put 6 gal back in. I read in another post that I need approx. 12 gal in the tranny for IH 240U. So topping off the hytran may do it and I'm gonna give that a shot this wkend. Let me know if you ever figured out a solution to this problem. jerry from CT
