Mornin', I think you've probably hit the nail on the head in regards to your 160 horse 1066. We all know that IH built all sorts of differing configurations for different parts of the world. I'll just bet that your tractor had the 436 engine, which is nothing more than a standard 414 block fitted with the long-throw crankshaft. Further, a builder at O/H time would not have given a second thought to that extra crank reach and probably didn't even notice the longer size. And yes, 140 to 160 horse from this engine would be completely within normal expectations. One of my old neighbors has a tractor that this modifications was done to at O/H time. From what I hear, this tractor is nothing less than a full-blown, gut binding monster and is more or less a conversation piece in these parts. Allan
