I have an early F-12 with solid cast rims that were manufactured in or for a company in Los Angeles. The engine it has in it is IHC but curiously the engine clearly has FSR 649 stamped into the block (its right next to the full pump). The 649 clearly was a Waukesha number. I have it from two experienced friends that the R designation could mean that it delineates the IHC motor as a swap-out during a conversion from the Waukesha. The frame rails were changed as was the front bolster. It is interesting to me that two early F-12s had the same, somewhat unusual solid (originaly red I think)LA rims. You are fortunate to have what seems to be a whole original. That is indeed a rare and a much sought after find I hope to stumble onto someday. I have a couple of friends,M and P (you know who you are)who are calender tractor people that I would love to see get a Waukesha and do a ground up restoration on. If it is completly original (original work clothes/barn fresh)that would be as good or better!

It is also very apparent that these folks are getting a lot of very poor and often very dangerous advice fro
