When I was 14 in the middle of December, I drove our 350ute into a farm yard with a big puddle of ice. I was traveling about 14 mph, hoping to drift a little as I poured on the throttle mid puddle. The right front tire broke through about four inches of ice and was stopped by the abrupt confrontation with the remaining ice. I was nearly thrown over the steering wheel, and, though holding on, I was now going both left with the left wheel, and right with the right wheel. I got the clutch down, and skidded to a stop. My dad was not pleased. We chained the wheel straight and nursed it bach to the garage. Though I welded at the time, He was convinced we needed a pro job and he took the steering arm (which was snapped in half) to our cousin's house. It came back in one piece with a beautiful bead ~3/4" wide all around the break. this arm is still on the tractor. A nice restored working ute. I believe the arm is forged steel and evidence indicates it is weldable. LOL don't do what I did! JimN
