With all the sparkplug talk recently I decided to try some autolites again (been years since anything but D-21's). I found my old craftsman deep well socket won't grab the autolite plugs! I pulled one back out to compare to the old D-21 and the champion is twice as deep at the hex head as the autolite. Do you guys have to grind down the walls on your sockets, or is the 12pnt version (or maybe some specific brands) made with thinner walls? I tried two different brand 6 pnt sockets today, and neither would fit (when the plug was down in the head). If it matters this is on a C123 head. Thanks, Stan(VA).
