Hi PaulG, we had had an early 1962 B414 and the PTO speed was 540 at about 1650 engine RPMs. Later on we also had a 434 which is same tractor but IH had upped the HP rating by slowing the PTO speed. 540 PTO on 434 required about 1850 engine RPM. At the time I had verified these PTO speeds with a Jacquets shaft tachometer. Maybe your B414 was a late production model and IH had already slowed the PTO speed down. My 2 cents JB2
