Isn't there a process for relining those old gas tanks? I think I saw it posted on here sometime ago. That would stop all that rusty crud from entering the fuel system. I use a tank vacuum to remove the rust from a gas tank from my car. The car had fuel injection and kept cutting out, then would restart very easily. I silver soldered a fiiting to the gas line and installed a gauge. When you tried to accelerate up a hill the pressure would drop. I pulled the tank and the fuel gauge and the pump assembly out. I had to get my wife to wipe out the tank, my paws were too big. That vaccum does a good job, do it outside. My tank vacuum is for wet or dry. I wouldn't use anything where the fumes may go through the motor. I replaced the pump too, my neighbor said I wouldn't change that pump. I answered him by saying. You're not changing the pump and that's where the labor is. Hal
