If your pulling the crank the motor has to come out. I assume that the crank must need to be turned or cracked that your taking it out. Check the cam lift as long as your there to make sure its in spec. SRC through Case IH has rebuild engines that can be put in if there is to much that needs to be replaced on your motor. You would have to check on the price but it seems to me that it was about 4300 to 4500 for a rebuild with warranty. The flex plate centers itself in the flywheel so you shouldn't have to worry about that. Just check it for wear.
