Just looked at PPG's website. They still have alkyd enamel, and a "acrylic modified alkyd enamel" which I assume is very similar to 2150. It does use a different hardener than PPG's acrylic enamel. Thus it an intermediate between alkyd enamel and acrylic enamel. PPG claims fade resistance is better than the straight alkyd. I have wondered exactly what the CIH acrylic modified is, now I have some idea, at least. So, we now have additional choices. Tractor store paint, which is straight alkyd enamel, CIH 2150 or PPG, etc., which are "upgraded" alkyd enamels, acrylic enamel, and acrylic urethane -- listed in order of quality and increasing price. I will still vote for acrylic enamel as the minimum quality, as for myself I will continue to use PPG Omni acrylic urethane--until they price it out of my range, which is getting close.
