Well, there's a lot of schools of thought on that, but if you really plan on capital "R" restoring, yes, try for showroom condition. If you plan on working it, you may find that you want to make a few changes. Don't expect to win "best of show" however. Some folks take themselves more seriously than others, so whatever you do, you will find someone who agrees with you.
