Same way here....the splined shaft was pretty gummed up from the leaking oil,and the discs were seriously full of absorbed lubricant.That little "well" that IH designed in to catch any leakage and send it back into the case via 2 machined holes was totally crudded up and useless.Years of leakage gummed up those safety features.I never thought leather was a very good seal material,but,still you have to hand it to it....if it wasnt any good all those seals would have been replaced way back in the 60s (or 70s anyway).Eventually I will replace them,but I seriously doubt even the newer rubber designs would ever last as long.
